AIG has appointed two general insurance underwriting chiefs to strengthen its global team, with the moves effective immediately.

Kean Driscoll becomes Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Property and Agriculture, while Alexander Baugh is Global Chief Underwriting Officer for Casualty and Financial Lines.

Mr Driscoll is a founding member of Bermuda-based Validus, which was purchased by AIG last year. He was most recently Validus Re CEO.

Mr Baugh has spent his 35-year career at AIG and recently served as president and CEO of North American general insurance.

Jeff Clements will take over from Mr Driscoll as Validus Re CEO.
