Suncorp changes EGM line-up

Suncorp has reshuffled its senior management team, with Andrew Mulvogue becoming EGM Commercial Insurance Distribution, replacing new EGM Life Distribution Andrew Mair.

Mr Mulvogue was previously EGM personal insurance distribution for five years, having joined Suncorp in 1998.

Resilium MD Gerard McDermott will move into the personal insurance role.

A search for Mr McDermott’s replacement at the Suncorp-owned authorised representative business is under way. Head of Commercial Insurance Strategy and Communications Simon Ascroft, who is a Resilium director, will serve as acting MD.

All the appointments take effect on March 9. Suncorp says the changes reflect its culture of developing talent and encouraging career opportunities.

Mr Mair replaces Jordan Hawke, who left Suncorp Life last month.

He will report to Suncorp Life CEO Geoff Summerhayes and will run the distribution functions of Suncorp Life through Asteron and the direct businesses.

Suncorp Life posted a major profit improvement for the six months to December 31.

Mr Summerhayes says the industry is facing challenging conditions, and Mr Mair will bring skills in building successful partnerships with brokers.
