Suncorp appoints new CIO

Suncorp Group has appointed one of Australia’s most senior technology executives as its new Chief Information Officer.  

Sarah Harland joins Suncorp from Medibank Private where she has been EGM Technology and Operations.

Her previous roles include GM Group Technology at ANZ Bank and CIO roles at the National Health Service in the UK and QWEST Communications in the US.

Ms Harland will lead Suncorp’s technology and business intelligence strategy and will have responsibility for all technology, digital enablement, cloud and infrastructure, protective services, and the innovation labs function. 

Suncorp Chief Transformation Officer Clayton Herbert, who has been acting as caretaker CIO since May, will continue in the role until Ms Harland takes up her position on September 1.
