QBE parts with claims chiefs

Two claims executives have left QBE as the insurer aims to tackle performance issues.

EGM Claims George Katsogiannis and Head of Short-Tail Claims Gavin Gibson have exited the business.

“As we made clear at our half-year results announcement, we need to improve our claims performance,” a QBE spokesman said. “While we have plans in place to do this, we’ve appointed new leadership to transform our claims processes and performance.”

Jon Fox has been appointed Interim EGM Claims, and Kathryn Wood takes the role of Claims Proposition and Head of Short-Tail Claims.

“Both Jon and Kathryn have significant claims experience and will reinvigorate our strategy to improve performance,” the spokesman told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

“George and Gavin have been with QBE for many years and have made a valuable contribution to our business, and we wish them all the best for the future.”

Mr Fox joined Elders Insurance in 2002, serving as GM since 2011, while Ms Wood joined QBE in 2009 and has held a number of leadership roles, most recently heading up the customer experience program for Australia and New Zealand.
