Lehane resigns from Zurich

Zurich EGM Commercial Bobby Lehane has left the company, with CEO Daniel Fogarty saying a replacement will be named shortly.

Mr Fogarty told insuranceNEWS.com.au today that Mr Lehane has resigned “to spend more time with his young family before taking the next step in his career”.

NSW/ACT State Manager Nick Dendrinos will be Acting EGM Commercial until a permanent appointment is made.

Irish-born Mr Lehane was appointed EGM SME in May 2012, replacing Shaun Feely, who returned to the company as COO in April.

At that time Mr Lehane’s role was expanded to include the corporate market as EGM Commercial.

Mr Lehane moved to Australia in 2001 and joined Zurich as CIO in 2007. In 2009 he was promoted to CIO for Zurich in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. He became COO of Zurich General Insurance Asia-Pacific in 2011.

“Bobby has been with Zurich for nearly seven years in a number of positions both locally and regionally,” Mr Fogarty said. “As the Australian CIO he played a key role in a number of significant developments, and as EGM SME since 2012 he has led Zurich’s SME business to continued success.

“We wish him all the best in the future.”

Former Chief Operations Officer Elizabeth Taylor also recently left the company.
