IAG creates New Zealand CRO role

IAG has appointed Karl Armstrong to the new role of New Zealand Chief Risk Officer, while Travis Atkinson will return to the country to fill the vacated EGM NZI position.

Mr Armstrong, EGM since 2008, will start his new role on September 15, focusing on strategic and operational risk and overseeing assurance processes.

He has experience across underwriting and risk management, reinsurance, sales, broker relationship management and marketing.

Mr Atkinson returns to New Zealand after a secondment to Malaysia to run the AmGeneral insurance joint venture between IAG and AmBank Group.

Last year he led the integration of Kurnia insurance, Malaysia’s largest motor cover provider.

He was previously EGM business partners in New Zealand.
