British entrepreneur sets up motor claims management service

UK-based claims management provider Action365 will establish a new venture in Australia later this year.

Claim Mate aims to deliver “world-class customer services” to clients involved in traffic accidents, and bridge the gap between client and insurer.

Services will include a “claims concierge”, first notification of loss, and intervention and cost control innovations.

Action365 founder Sam White told insuranceNEWS.com.au Claim Mate is consumer-focused but it hopes to partner with insurers.

“We’ve been talking to partner businesses about them potentially adding Claim Mate to their existing policies and we’ve had some positive responses to that,” she said.

“I’m not at liberty to talk on their behalf, but I am confident a number of businesses will be including us as a product in the market.”

Ms White says Australian motor claims are “too adversarial”.

“We are going to level the playing field [and] make sure the costs are reasonable and fair to the insurance industry, but also make sure consumers don’t have to manage the claim themselves.”

The service is to launch before the end of the year and will operate nationwide.
