Lloyd’s Australia names new leadership line-up

Lloyd’s has appointed new leaders to run its business here as Regional Head of Australia and New Zealand Chris Mackinnon prepares to take up an expanded role in Singapore on April 1.

Head of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance Asia-Pacific Tracey Bryan will take an additional role as General Representative in Australia and Vanuatu, and Peter Plustwik, who joined in 2020 as Dispute Resolution Team Manager, will be promoted to GM. They will start their new roles on April 1.

“I am particularly pleased to have been able to manage succession in Australia through internal appointments,” Mr Mackinnon told insuranceNEWS.com.au. “Both Tracey and Peter have demonstrated exceptional skill and leadership, and both have a clear commitment to our values, our people and our stakeholders.”

As General Representative, Ms Bryan will have responsibility for managing Lloyd’s regulatory relationships and obligations, and representing the interests of the market in her territories.

“Tracey has been with Lloyd’s Australia for over 13 years and has firmly established her credibility across the corporation and the broader market, having guided the market through significant regulatory reform in recent years,” Lloyd’s said in a statement.

Ms Bryan is also a Director of Lloyd’s Australia Limited and other Lloyd’s subsidiaries in the region.

Mr Plustwik will be responsible for managing the local Lloyd’s subsidiary and the Lloyd’s Australia team when he starts his GM role, and he will join the board of Lloyd’s Australia. Before Lloyd’s, he held several senior leadership positions at IAG and Allianz, with a core focus on customer outcomes and continuous improvement projects.

As previously reported, Mr Mackinnon will become Regional Director for the Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa markets, taking over from Iain Ferguson, who is retiring at the end of the year.

Mr Mackinnon’s appointment is part of a planned succession, after the market announced last year that he would deputise for Mr Ferguson, who will remain in his other role as Lloyd’s Japan President until December 31.
