IAG executive heads for exit after revamp

IAG has created a single Australian division under the leadership of Mark Milliner, who switches from COO to CEO Australia with immediate effect.

The Australia Division brings together the former Australian Consumer, Australian Business, Operations and Satellite divisions, and Australian Consumer Division CEO Anthony Justice will leave the company.

The insurer says the changes will simplify its operating model and centralise accountability for the customer, product, distribution and operations functions for IAG’s Australian brands, which include NRMA Insurance, CGU, WFI, SGIO and SGIC.

“Creating a simpler, more efficient Australia Division takes advantage of the scale of our business and the expertise of our people so we can respond more effectively to rapidly changing customer needs and expectations,” said IAG MD and CEO Peter Harmer.

As CEO Australia, Mr Milliner will continue to drive the simplification and optimisation of IAG’s operating processes and systems.

Mr Justice, who joined the insurer in 2011, has “decided to leave” IAG.

“Anthony has been a valued member of my leadership team and has made a significant contribution to our business over the past six years,” said Mr Harmer.

Australian Business Division CEO Ben Bessell remains a member of IAG’s Group Leadership Team and becomes EGM Business Distribution, reporting to Mark Milliner.
