MGA introduces new SA branch managers

MGA has announced management changes at two of its operations in SA.

Chris Matthews has taken on portfolio management at the broker’s Tintinara branch after the retirement of Garth and Kate Hannaford.

Mr Matthews has been MGA Naracoorte branch manager for almost three decades, and his team now looks after both portfolios.

“We wish Garth and wife Kate all the very best in their retirement after having a successful 21 years with MGA,” Group MD Paul George told insuranceNEWS.com.au.

Earlier this year, MGA Wudinna Branch Manager Eugene Wauchope took over the Whyalla branch from Anthony Cotter, who plans to travel with family.

Mr Cotter joined MGA in November 2019, taking over from his father Brian; they had a combined 50 years of serving the Whyalla region through their agency.

Mr Cotter sold the business and his management rights via MGA’s portfolio management model to Mr Wauchope, who joined MGA in 2016 in Wudinna and will now manage both offices.

Whyalla Broker Assistants Narelle Baker and Charma Pickhaver-Tupe are excited to work alongside the Wudinna office, Mr George says.

Whyalla, SA’s third-largest city behind Adelaide and Mt Gambier, is home to deep-water ports and steel manufacturers, and Mr George says it is likely to be the second most populace city in SA in the next five years.
