Interim chief takes the helm at Club Marine

Allianz-owned boat insurer Club Marine has appointed Tim Wiles as CEO after he took the role on an interim basis last November.

Mr Wiles was previously COO and second in command. The insurer says his elevation ensures a seamless transition after his predecessor Karen Te Maipi left.

“His passion for excellence and leadership skills make him the perfect fit for the role, as we transform and grow the Club Marine business,” Allianz Australia Insurance GM Agencies (Acting) Jenita Wijaya said.

Mr Wiles joined Club Marine in 2007 as a junior underwriter and later held senior roles across underwriting, member services, technical, contact centre operations and claims and product.

“It has been a privilege to work in the marine industry my whole career, enabling me to combine my love of the water and boating with my job,” he said. “Serving as acting CEO for the past six months has been a great experience and I’m looking forward to continue growing the company and building on our standing as Australia’s largest recreational boat insurance provider.”
