NIBA names Queensland, SA award winners

Austbrokers Coast to Coast MD Dale Hansen has won the National Insurance Brokers Association’s (NIBA) broker of the year award for Queensland.

The runners-up were Susan Lindores of Aon Risk Services and Christine Palmer from Arthur J Gallagher.

Strata Insurance Solutions’ Tyrone Shandiman claimed the state’s young broker of the year honour, beating runners-up Christina Neylon of Ausure Coast & Country and Dwayne Watkins of Aon.

Also announced last week were the SA/NT winners, with Arthur J Gallagher’s Ali Conte claiming the broker of the year award.

Runners-up were Ian Furby of Aon Risk Solutions, and Greg Johnson from Arthur J Gallagher.

Katie Stephenson, also of Arthur J Gallagher, took the young broker title ahead of runners-up Josh McDonald of Brecknock Insurance Brokers and Daniela Zaccone of Willis Towers Watson.

National winners will be announced at the NIBA Convention in Melbourne in September.

The top broker will take home the Stephen Ball Memorial Award, with a prize worth about $20,000, courtesy of QBE.

The young brokers compete in the Vero-sponsored Warren Tickle Memorial Award, competing for a professional development experience worth about $10,000.
