Golf day takes Adroit fundraising past $1 million milestone

Adroit Insurance Group held its 16th charity golf day in Barwon Heads on November 23, raising $105,376 for Bethany Community Support in Geelong.

This takes total funds raised through the annual event to $1 million.

Bethany will use this year’s total to develop a men’s centre with services that include behaviour change programs, counselling, fathering schemes and mental health assessment and treatment – filling a gap in the community’s response to family violence.

“It’s incredible to see so many local businesses helping our community by giving so generously and assisting Bethany Community Support in its efforts; the benefits from the funds raised are far-reaching in the prevention and response to such an important issue,” Adroit Insurance Group MD Andrew Locke said.

Forty teams comprising 168 players competed over two courses at 13th Beach Golf Links.

The event concluded with a dinner and appearance by former Geelong AFL premiership-winning captain Cameron Ling.
