Christchurch properties rezoned

Email Print

More than 1100 residential properties have been rezoned “green” in Christchurch, meaning owners can begin discussions with their private insurers and the Earthquake Commission (EQC) over repairs.

The homes in the Port Hills had been zoned “white”, meaning no work can be undertaken while geotechnical analysis is done to determine if they are safe to occupy.

The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority will hold a community meeting in the next week at which EQC and insurer representatives will outline the process for rebuilds and repairs.
