Guy Carpenter regional chief holds role in reshuffle

Reinsurance broker Guy Carpenter has made several senior appointments after parent Marsh & McLennan sealed its $US5.6 billion ($8 billion) takeover of rival JLT.

Guy Carpenter CEO Asia-Pacific Tony Gallagher will continue in his role, which includes overseeing Australia, and Jeremy Fox has taken up his previously announced role as Chairman of Asia-Pacific.

Chairman of UK and Global Specialties Kevin Fisher has additionally been appointed Chairman of London North America, and he will report to Guy Carpenter President and CEO Peter Hearn.

Chairman Global Strategic Advisory Vicky Carter has been appointed Chairman of Global Capital Solutions International, and continues to report to Mr Hearn.

Global Specialties CEO James Boyce will stay in his present role, also reporting to Mr Hearn, while Bradley Maltese become Global Specialties Vice-Chairman, reporting to Mr Boyce.

CEO International James Nash remains in the position and reports to Mr Hearn.

“Our focus through the integration is building a structure that allows our company and our colleagues to deliver the full value of the combined organisation to clients,” Mr Hearn said.

Vice-Chairman Ross Hayward will retire later this year after more than 40 years in the reinsurance business.

Other appointments Guy Carpenter announced for international, headed by Mr Nash, include:

  • Carolyn Morley and Ian Kerton will lead a newly combined unit bringing together the capabilities of the global casualty and UK property and casualty teams.
  • Charles Whitmore stays on as Head of Placement Solutions Group.
  • Shaun Scade remains Head of Accident and Health.
  • Massimo Reina continues as CEO of Continental Europe and Middle East.
  • Aidan Pope, CEO of Latin America and Caribbean, will retire later this year
